I am a New York born artist currently living and working in Long Island City, Queens. My career as a restorer of antique furniture and objects heavily influences my work.  I received a BFA in Restoration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1999.  My studies included art history and hands on training in techniques of 13th century fresco restoration in Florence, Italy.  My background also includes painting, sculpture, ceramics and studio furniture making.  My artwork is currently focused on mixed media painting and was recently shown in REDUCTIVE at the Jeffrey Leder Gallery May 15 thru June 10, 2012.

My LIC based studio specializes in the restoration and conservation of fine antique furniture and decorative art objects.  I also provide specialty finishing services, such as replacing lost finishes on period antiques and accurately reproducing finishes on newly made reproductions.  
Until October 2012 I was a founding board member of the Artisans Guild of America, a non-profit organization with a mission of preserving the tradition of the artisan workshop.  We curated an exhibition of artisan work entitled “Assemblage: The Artisan’s Guild in LIC”.  The show ran May 19th - 20th, during the 2012 LIC Arts Open Festival, an 8 day celebration of the thriving arts community in Long Island City.

My jewelry designs range from delicate understated wirework to large ceramic components.  Selected work was recently featured in 3rd Ward’s Member Trunk Show and will soon be available in 3rd Ward’s Store.  My website is linked to my Etsy shop where available pieces can be purchased.  On December 12th & 15th I will be one of 7 vendors selling high end handmades in the Artisan Holiday Gift Show, which I am curating with Cindy Avroch.

I worked in the restaurant industry for years, putting myself through college and supplementing my studio in the early days.  In 2010, I co-founded LIC Market, an inspired, seasonal New American restaurant, with my partner Alex Schindler.    I designed the interior and currently curate the artwork of our talented featured artists.
